Abstrait: This study assesses the Canadian library community’s understanding of and readiness for the transition from the MARC format to the BIBFRAME model. Results indicate that knowledge of BIBFRAME is low among respondents and that most of the libraries surveyed do not know enough about BIBFRAME to consider planning a transition. The success of the transition will depend on the leadership of larger libraries as well as better training in formal programs and continuing education initiatives.
