Dr. Patitsas, Professor Emeritus, taught in the Department of Physics and Astronomy from 1961 until he retired in 1996. His research interests are in the areas of acoustic emissions from singing sands, musical grains, glass surfaces when rubbed by a wet finger and avalanching sand dunes.
